"I grew up in Philadelphia with my 8 siblings. My parents passed away when I was very young. After graduating high school, college didn’t feel like an option at the time. Of my siblings, only one of my brothers went to college and received his associate's degree, he began his bachelors degree but dropped out to take care of my siblings and me. At the age of 23, I had a beautiful daughter. I raised her as a single parent and wanted the best for her. With poor schools in the Philadelphia, I packed up and moved to California in pursuit of better opportunities for my daughter’s education...."
