Laura Henderson

Roughly 25 years ago, Laura Henderson received her Associate's Degree from Fisher College in Boston. At that point, raising her family and caring for others did not leave her much time to focus on working toward her Bachelor’s Degree. A few years ago, with her children grown up and more time to think about advancement in her career, she acquired a “thirst for more.”  Education was the thirst quencher. Laura found that the programs offered by Cambridge College really clicked with working adults like her and that, "the instructors at Cambridge College have that 'real world' experience -- beyond just being classroom professors like the faculty at many other colleges." Laura decided to jump back into academia and college studies!

Fast forward a couple years: as a graduating member of the Class of 2014, Laura was charged with delivering the Student Commencement Address at her graduation. She came up with just one word that described the graduates on that beautiful sunny day.  That word was Perseverance!  It’s a word that perhaps for very good reason resonates each year with Cambridge College graduates and is echoed over and over again. Laura reflected on the steadfast determination, motivation, dedication, and commitment to their education that she and her classmates shared. “We were truly unwavering, and we did it!”

But Laura’s educational journey wasn’t over in 2014. "Right before I attended the 2014 commencement, I made the decision to continue my education even further – I immediately applied to the MBA program at Cambridge College.”  On June 5, 2016, Laura earned her MBA and was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society. Laura’s graduate degree has provided the framework for her recent promotion to Vice President of Portfolio Management at SIAA, the nation’s largest partnering insurance agency alliance, located in Hampton, NH.

Laura has also stayed connected to her classmates, and her college. In 2015, she along with several other alumni began the arduous process of formalizing the Alumni Association for Cambridge College. Today, the Association is moving forward with more plans to re-engage its 35,000+ alumni worldwide, and Laura is doing her part to help in that effort. We are proud of Laura, and congratulate her on her most recent accomplishments!
