Commencement Policy

  1. Cambridge College has three conferral dates for graduation: January, June, and August.

  2. Cambridge College commencement must be planned and implemented in coordination with the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

  3. The date for commencement must be approved one year in advance.

  4. Commencement must be scheduled subsequent to a specific conferral date.

  5. If for any reason there are students permitted to attend the commencement who are scheduled to graduate at a subsequent date, theyshall have the status of “participants” only.

  6. The Registrar shall issue diplomas and the list of graduates.

  7. Any student whose conferral date occurs following a commencement date may not participate as a graduate at such commencement and no College written materials shall refer to such individual as a Cambridge College graduate or otherwise imply that such individual has satisfied Cambridge College graduation requirements.

  8. Students who have not completed graduation requirements cannot obtain a diploma and should not be given any other written documentation that implies that they have graduated.

  9. Any student letters prepared for general distribution, press releases, commencement programs and/or any other related written materials must have the prior written approval of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. They must be submitted to said Vice President at least two weeks in advance.

  10. The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs shall be kept completely informed in writing of all aspects of commencement.
