May 1, 2023: COVID-19 Protocols Suspended for All Campuses

As you may be aware, based on the progress made in the fight against COVID-19, Federal, and State authorities have ordered the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency as of May 11, 2023.   

Based on this update, the College has chosen to officially suspend its COVID-19 protocol requirements for all campuses, as of May 1st, 2023, and for the start of the 2023 Summer semester.  As a result, we will no longer require observance of COVID-19 protocols and practices previously mandated for our Massachusetts campuses.  Students and staff coming to campus will no longer be required to obtain or present a Cambridge College vaccination verification card.

Please note that we will, however, continue to stay alert to the re-emergence of any related public health issues and remain steadfast in our commitment to keeping you healthy, safe, and informed.  Individuals are encouraged to continue taking preventive measures to keep themselves and our overall communities healthy.  If you have not yet, please get boosted, continue to mask as needed, and stay home when feeling sick.

As we have done for the last two academic years, we will continue to monitor state and local data regarding the virus, look to health experts, and learn from other academic institutions, to guide our future decisions. We will remain vigilant and prepared to initiate more extensive protections for on-campus activities if warranted by changes in public health conditions.

Managing for Monkeypox

Cambridge College is monitoring monkeypox developments in the United States and in Massachusetts and will continue to adjust the College’s recommendations and response accordingly. We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the basic facts about monkeypox and to take steps to prevent its spread.

If you are exposed to or diagnosed with monkeypox, please work with your healthcare provider for instructions on how to manage your health.  If you have been exposed or learned of a positive diagnosis while on campus, please contact COVIDRC@cambridgecollege.edu immediately so appropriate action can be taken.
