General Information

Maintaining F1 Status

All F1 non-immigrant students must maintain their F1 status by registering full time in:

  • The first term of study
  • Every Fall term
  • Every Spring term
Full-time registration is:
  • 12 credits for undergraduate students
  • 8 credits for graduate student
Students may reduce course load only:
  • For academic reasons in the first term of study
  • With a valid medical excuse
  • In the last term of study prior to graduation
