Kuramoto inducted into prestigious international honor society

Linda Kuramoto, Program Chair for mental health counseling and Program Chair for rehabilitation counseling in the School of Psychology and Counseling, was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling. She is currently a doctoral student in counselor education and supervision.

Linda is not only a graduate of Cambridge College, where she received her CAGS in mental health, but began her career at Cambridge College eight years ago as a senior instructor and Program Chair for rehabilitation counseling. She developed the rehabilitation counseling concentration as a complement to the mental health counseling 60 credit program at a time when none existed in the Commonwealth.

She is active on Cambridge College’s Racial Equity and Social Justice (RESJ) committee. She is the chairperson for the academic subcommittee which is working with faculty to sustain the RESJ values of Cambridge College. These values are the foundation of the school and distinguish it.

Linda’s background includes a long history in community mental health and maintaining a private practice.  She is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), a certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC), and a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. She specializes in complex medical conditions, complex trauma, and supporting the Asian American community.
