On November 3, 2016, Cambridge College - Puerto Rico Director Santiago Mendez-Hernandez was honored by Rotary International/Guaynabo Club for Community Service. For more than ten years, Santiago has been an active proponent for the empowerment of other community members’ lives. He has worked for the rehabilitation of addicts, offered motivational workshops for inmates, collected clothes for underserved members of public housing projects and contributed to the betterment of children at underprivileged schools, among other activities. Recently, as a consequence of his new role at Cambridge College, he was hired, admitted and sworn in at the Guaynabo Rotary Club. Because of his intense and sustained volunteerism efforts, he was recognized as a Service Leader.

Rotary Club is a nationwide organization that was established over 100 years ago. It has more than one million members who work to promote quality of life in their communities. Rotary Club members include business people, community leaders and neighbors who share the values of integrity and service. They work with their communities to help solve the particular challenges that they may face.

We are so proud of Santiago and the compassion, kindness and effort he has displayed towards people in need. Please join us in congratulating him on this wonderful recognition.
